10/10 execution of classic tropes and original story beats. Asshole with a heart of gold who slowly warms up? Strange man accidentally adopts/adopted by juvenile delinquents? Gotta help them save the farm by participating in a big competition? Wonderful, excellent – but the original elements are just as endearing. The ending truly surprised and delighted me, who was expecting a harsher outcome.
